My nephew is 11 he told me that solar panels are designed after Leafs is this true?
While they both capture and store energy from sunlight, they operate by very different processes:
Leaves capture light energy from the sun, and through a complex series of chemical reactions, change it to glucose. The reaction uses water and carbon dioxide, and releases oxygen along with the glucose.
Solar panels operate via photovoltaics. When sunlight hits a semiconductor, like silicone, the photons of the light knock electrons off the atoms in the silicone. They are then picked up by a wire, and transferred to the circuit.
