Can i reduce the pressure on a pool pump??
Hey all I am making a solar heater for my pool I have coiled 30 foot of black hose on a board and covered it in perspex, the idea is that as the sun heats the pipe the water gets hot in it ,the only problem I have is that I now need a pump to pump the water round the pipe ,The pipe is half inch black rubber pipe, the water needs to be pumped slowley as the slower it goes the hotter it gets, can I put a pressure valve or tap on to a standard pool pump to slow the water down or will this burn the motor our ?…. has anybody got any other ideas or has anybody done this and what sort of pump did you use ??
if the board is no higher than the top water line, and the solar heater is drawing from near the bottom of the pool, regular convection should work. As the water heats up, it will start flowing up, causing new , cold water to be drawn into the pipe. IF you set it up properly…
